Dave Boots

Dave Boots is in his 23rd season as the head men’s basketball coach at the University of South Dakota in 2010-11. In addition to being the Coyote head men’s coach, he also serves as the assistant athletic director for operations at USD.

Boots is guiding the Coyote men as they enter Year 3 of their transition to Division I status in 2010-11.

Boots is one of the nation’s premier basketball coaches, having compiled 578 career victories entering the 2010-11 campaign. In his first 22 seasons at USD, he compiled a record of 463-182 (.718). That included six North Central Conference Championships, a Great West Conference Championship and 16 seasons of 20 wins or more. The Coyotes qualified for 10 NCAA Division II national tournaments under Boots, including five straight (2003-08).

Boots is the all-time wins leader in USD history and the Coyotes have a record of 279-47 (.856) at home under his guidance.
