R.J. Pattison

Rod (R.J.) Pattison enters his seventh season of calling Coyote Athletics in the fall of 2010, after spending the last 22 years behind the mic for high school and college athletics. Pattison spent three years as a sideline reporter and play-by-play host for The U from 1995 to 1997, before returning to USD in 2007 as play-by-play host for women’s basketball radio broadcasts and color for football broadcasts

Pattison has covered the South Dakota high school football playoffs, state wrestling tournaments, state girl's and boy's basketball tournaments and state legion and amateur baseball tournaments since 1990. He has also worked numerous collegiate sporting events.

Pattison has also enjoyed a broadcast career in auto racing. He is the founder of "Hosehead's Radio", an Internet radio site designed to deliver live play-by-play of sprint car and late-model racing. He has been the Internet radio voice of sprint car's most prestigious race “The Knoxville Nationals” for the past five years, has been the pit reporter for The Knoxville Late Model Nationals on SPEED Channel, is a track announcer at Huset's Speedway in Brandon, S.D., and is chairman of the Huset's Speedway Hall of Fame committee.

Pattison and his wife, Kim, along with their two children, Alli and Bobby, live in Mitchell, S.D., where he works as a Solutions Consultant for A & B Business, Inc.
