PRIMM, Nev. -- Senior Jim Walsh shot an even-par 72 to lead the University of South Dakota men’s golf team at the final round of the Jackrabbit Invitational in Primm, Nev., on Tuesday.
Walsh (Sioux Falls, S.D.) carded the best USD round of the tournament with the 72. His 54-hole total of 234 (81-81-72) left him in a tie for 62nd overall.
As a team, USD shot its best round of the tournament, carding a 310. The Coyotes finished in a tie for 16th at 964 (322-332-310).
Junior Kyle Scanlon (Stillwater, Minn.) finished at 238 for USD after shooting his second straight round in the 70s. Scanlon shot a 77 Tuesday after shooting rounds of 82 and 79 on Monday.
Freshman Ty Munneke (Champlin, Minn.) finished at 246 (78-85-83), while freshman Ben Heller (Aberdeen, S.D.) ended at 252 (81-91-80). Junior Gavin Fawbush (Madison, S.D.) was USD’s final score at 253 (85-87-81).
The next action for the Coyote men is March 29-30 at the Hal Sutton Invite in Bossier City, La. The event is hosted by Centenary College.
