OMAHA, Neb. -- The University of South Dakota women’s golf team wrapped up play at the Creighton Golf Classic Tuesday with a seventh-place finish.
USD shot a 381 – the identical score the Coyotes shot during the first round – to finish at 762. Northern Iowa won the event at 644.
Freshman Tara Ravellette (Philip, S.D.) led USD on the day, shooting a 93 to finish with a two-day total of 189, good for a tie for 36th. Freshman Nicole Funck (Dakota Dunes, S.D.) added a 94 to finish at 190.
Junior Abby Doorn (Spencer, Iowa) ended at 191 (94-97) for USD, while junior Steph Zavilla (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) ended at 192 (97-95). Sophomore Katie Benedict (Sioux Falls, S.D.) added a 205 (101-104) to round out the USD lineup.
USD resumes action at the Great West Conference Championships in Edinburg, Texas, on April 25-27.
