VERMILLION, S.D. -- University of South Dakota women’s soccer coach Mandy Green has announced the Coyotes’ 2010 schedule. The 2010 campaign will include nine home games plus a six-game Great West Conference schedule.

The Coyotes open the regular season on Aug. 20 at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. USD will follow that with a game at Western Illinois of the Summit League on Aug. 22. It is one of six games against Summit League teams for USD, which joins the league in 2011-12.

USD opens its home season against Missouri-Kansas City on Aug. 27, which is part of a season-long six-game homestand for the Coyotes. Other games during that homestand include nonconference contests against Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis (Sept. 4), Western Illinois (Sept. 6), Creighton (Sept. 9), Idaho (Sept. 11) and Eastern Washington (Sept. 17). USD faced all but Western Illinois and IUPUI in 2009.

The Coyotes then begin a stretch of seven consecutive road games, starting on Sept. 19 when they renew their rivalry with in-state rival South Dakota State. It will be the first regular-season meeting between the two teams since Oct. 17, 2003, when USD won, 2-0.

USD will also renew another old North Central Conference rivalry on Sept. 26 when it plays at North Dakota State, also a member of the Summit League. It will be the first meeting between the two programs since Oct. 4, 2003.

Other games on the road during that stretch include contests at Missouri Valley Conference schools Drake (Sept. 30) and Northern Iowa (Oct. 3).

The Coyotes venture into Great West Conference play on Oct. 8 at North Dakota, and will follow that with games at Houston Baptist (Oct. 14) and Utah Valley (Oct. 16). USD will then play host to Houston Baptist on Oct. 22 and Utah Valley on Oct. 24 before closing out the regular-season at home against North Dakota on Oct. 29.

The 2010 Great West Championship is set for Nov. 5-8 in Houston, Texas.

USD will hold its Alumni Game on Aug. 13, and then play an exhibition game against Wisconsin-Green Bay in St. Paul, Minn. On Aug. 15.
